QCC 2007 Mystery Quilt BOM "Toys In The Attic" PART 1
(patterns and instructions are below the story)

It was a beautiful Spring day and Julie had decided it was time for some major springcleaning. Her 2 children Abby and Eric’s, room had become over-ridden with too many toys and other items, which needed to be sorted and unused/outgrown items boxed and taken up to the attic. Despite all their complaints she finally convinced them it was for the best, and that they would enjoy their space better without so much clutter. And so, they worked together and had a box of unwanted toys and clothing ready to go in notime!

Julie picked up the box, and carried it up the attic stairway. The children followed closely behind, always enjoying an opportunity to explore the many nooks, crannies, and treasures hiding in the old, dusty attic. Julie went off looking for a good place to storethe box. “Mommy, Mommy” her 3 year old daughter exclaimed. “Whats dat?” She waspointing to a large, dusty chest, that had been hiding under a pile of old clothing (which she had strung from one end of the attic to the other at this point). Abby had opened the lid and was excited about what she had found! “Oh my” her mother said as she began looking through the items within the chest. “I guess my mother did some Spring cleaning of her own when I was a little girl!” Her son Eric (who was 5) rushed over tosee what all the excitement was about. He poked his head into the chest. “Where’d you get all that stuff?” he asked. Julie explained to them that these were some of her things from her own childhood. And that her mother must have brought them to the attic after she had outgrown them, just like they were doing now with their own things. Eric grabbed something from the chest. “Can I have this Mommy?” he asked. Julie decided since they had done such a good job cleaning out their own room, it couldn’t hurt. She looked at the _____ Eric was holding. “I remember that” she said “ I got it for my 4th birthday. My mother has a picture of me holding it. I thought it was gone for good! I suppose you can take it down to your room, but be careful, its old and could fall apart, maybe you should jut put it on a shelf where you can look at it, we wouldn’t want it to get ruined” She smiled thinking back to her 4th birthday and what fun it was. She had missed that little ____. It would be nice to be able to see it again!

So off the 3 went back down to the children’s room to find a place for their new found ____!
