QCC 2007 Mystery Quilt BOM "Toys In The Attic"
PART 2
(patterns and instructions are below the story)
Once back in the children’s room, They found the perfect spot for the old
teddy bear. They placed him on a shelf where they could always see him. “I bet he is happy to be out of that dusty old
attic, and back where he belongs”, Julie told her children. “I want to name him mommy” Eric replied. “Hmm
I will call him …. Sandy.”
“Well”, Julie said “Lets get back to work on another box for
the attic, your room is looking much better, and you never know what else might be hiding up there”. Now the children
were quite excited, and didn’t mind at all helping to fill another box. Knowing now they would soon be back in the attic
where they could explore more.
Soon, another box prepared, they all headed up to the attic once again. Julie
found a place to store the box, while the children started to look under some old sheets that were laying around. Hiding in
a corner, under one of the sheets, Abby found their next treasure. “Mommy” she cried happily “Come see!!”
So Julie rushed over wondering what they had discovered this time.
“Oh my’, she said “ I have not seen that in ages! I didn’t
realize it was up here this whole time. I really used to love playing with this when I was your age Abby. I could spend the
whole day pretending I was all sorts of things and off to save the day. I cant believe its still in such good shape”
“Can we put it in our room with Sandy?” Abby asked her mother. “Well,”
Julie replied, “I don’t see why not, but you wont be able to play with this. It will have to just be looked at,
I wouldn’t want it to fall apart, or you to get hurt. Maybe we can ask your Daddy if he could make us a special shelf
to hold all of our special treasures. Since this one is too large to fit up there with Sandy. We will put it in the corner
for now, and see what daddy can come up with” The children both smiled, they really liked the idea of having a special
shelf for their attic treasures.
So once again, they all headed back down the attic stairway. Julie towing along
another lost toy that could now once again see the light of day, in the sunny room where the children play.
